Belfast Pasta (says it all really...)

Belfast Pasta is the online home of Justin Nicholl, seller of fresh, homemade pasta and the like in St. George's Market, Belfast every Saturday Morning. Dave Robb, our lead designer is a graduate from the Multimedia and Design course from the University of Ulster. In his final year the website design and branding for Justin's business was set as an assignment. Dave's website was chosen by Justin out of about 90 entries and we got this nice wee portfolio piece because of it. Dave also got an iPhone for his work, thanks Justin.

Justin sees the market as a place where people can bring the whole family and spend a Saturday morning having fun together. With markets seen as being quite dated and old fashioned by many today, Dave chose to play into the hands of this stereotype through the design. Using black and white, grainy photography to accent the site content, he blended a mix of the old and the new to create this striking, colourless website. Justin writes all his own price and product lists on chalk boards beside his stall and Dave crafted the branding round this.
